We understand the joy of spending quality time with your loved ones, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. To make your weekends even more special, we’ve curated a list of engaging activities happening right here in Calhoun County. From interactive workshops and outdoor adventures to creative arts and educational exhibitions, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. So, grab your calendar, gather the little ones, and let’s dive into a weekend filled with laughter, learning, and limitless fun! It’s a new month and we’re kicking off September STRONG! Here’s what’s coming up for Labor Day weekend!

Friday
Nursing Moms- at 10am Central Lactation Consultants are hosting their monthly Breastfeeding Support Group at The Vine Chiropractic  in Oxford. This is a time moms can join together and support one another while having the expertise of Kasey Bittle, one of Central Alabama Lactation Services local certified lactation consultants.

At 11am the Anniston Public Library is hosting a Homeschool Computer Class at the Carver Branch.

At 12 pm Oxford Public Library will have their biweekly- Painting with Lexie series. Please don’t forget your canvas!

Saturday
Bright and early at 7am is the weekly Downtown Anniston Market ready with fresh produce for your labor day weekend!

Also at 7am the Square in Jacksonville will be alive with farm fresh produce at the Jacksonville Farmers Market!

At 8am Saturday morning is time for Market on Main at Simmons Park in Oxford! Don’t miss various food and craft vendors as well as a play area for kiddos.

Starting at 1pm Exploration Station is back at Anniston Musuem! Explore the halls of the Anniston Museum of Natural History to find one of our educators and an Exploration Station. These stations feature hands-on items and activities that help you to discover new and exciting facts about the natural world! This program is included in museum admission and free for members.
