Friday

Free Play Friday is back at Anniston Museum! Join the Education team in the Learning Lodge for fun, open-ended exploration using natural materials. Perfect for all ages.
This program is included with museum admission and free for members.

We’re so excited about all the homeschool events coming to the Anniston Library! This Friday is their Homeschool Art Class! Explore different kinds of art! Held at the same time as the teens Homeschoolers’ Art Class in the Anniston Room.

The homeschool events aren’t just limited to elementary ages! The Teen Homeschool Art Class at Anniston Library is in the Ayers Room. Learn about famous artists, movements, styles and mediums and then create works of art yourself! Ages 13+

We love the Anniston Museum and Friday they are having their Volunteer Opportunities Open House. One of the best ways to experience the Anniston Museums and Gardens is to become a volunteer. Whether you are a plant enthusiast, animal lover, or history geek, there is something of interest for everyone! Come anytime between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm to meet members of the staff, talk with current volunteers, and learn about the opportunities at AM&G, including animal care, garden work, and museum docent.

Another event at the Anniston Museum this weekend is the Ambassador “Adoption” Fair Saturday from 10am-2pm The Anniston Museums and Gardens houses around 40 live animal ambassadors. These animals are full time “Creature Teachers” who educate and excite people of all ages about wildlife and conservation. They bring the Anniston Museum of Natural History’s exhibit halls to life, and help us connect with our guests. In order to provide the best possible husbandry and care, we need support from animal lovers like you! Join the AM&G Education team for a meet and greet with our ambassadors throughout the day and learn how you can help us provide the best possible husbandry and care through the Adopt an Ambassador program.

Y’all know there isn’t much I love more than a good food truck festival! Jacksonville is the place to be Saturday evening for the Hidden Gems on Wheels Food Truck Festival.

Also in Jacksonville this Saturday is the Back to School Bash on the Square. Admission is free. They’ll have a ton of activities and ways to play for kids and adults as they end this year’s Summer Saturdays on the Square.
