The Oxford Yellow Jackets are kicking off the weekend with their Fan Day that includes scrimmage games of all ages and food trucks on site! 5:00-7:oo pm at Lamar Field!
Second Friday is back at Simmons Park in Oxford! Come hang out with the food trucks, car show, the kid zone, and a free showing of Monsters INC! The fun starts at 4 pm!
Smith’s Martial Arts is hosting a Focus for Better Grades Event in Oxford! 6:00 pm
Saturday
There are 2 great events going on Saturday Morning at Anniston First United Methodist Church! First is a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser from 7:00-10:00 am, then they’re having their Back to School Sidewalk Art Festival from 9-11am in front of the church!
Another incredible Saturday morning event to add to your list is the Pancake Breakfast and Vendor Festat Weaver Park benefiting our area Foster Families! The pancake breakfast fundraiser runs from 7-10 am with the vendors set up by 9am and staying til 3 pm and for those looking for lunch, food trucks will be on site from 11am-3pm!
Hooligan H-D is hosting their first ever Ice Cream Social. Join in on August 12th to participate in this year’s sweetest event!
Lowes is hosting their monthly Kid’s DIY Workshop this weekend! Open the tailgate and unload the fun for this Kids Workshop. Your mini-DIYer will build their own little Pickup Truck toy using real tools. No grease but lots of great memories. Starts at 10am!
It’s Creature Feature Weekend at Anniston Museum! Make plans to join them in the exhibit halls on the 2nd Saturday of each month between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to meet and learn about one of our animal ambassadors. You never know who will be featured!
For our Teens who love D&D- it’s time for Anniston Library’s monthly D&D meet up with game play and pizza! This is all ages and all skill levels! 1pm at the Main Branch
It’s time again to catch WEAVER FEVER! Weaver is stepping their events up big time and you don’t want to miss this one! These events are a free and family friendly. This event is a music Day! They have lined up four amazing bands! There will be food trucks, inflatables, extended splash pad hours, and we will be showing Minions: The Rise of Gru at 8pm. As always the disc golf and playground will be open so come early and plan to stay late! Bring a lawn chair or towel to enjoy the movie! You are welcome to bring food and drinks (non alcoholic) as well.
CornerStone Fellowship Church in Weaver is hosting an End Of Summer Youth Rally Saturday from 6pm-8:30pm and are inviting all the area youth for a night of worship, games, and giveaways!
Sunday
Michaels offers free crafting events for kids every Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. All materials are included too, so you don’t need to buy expensive one-time use kits, or large quantities of random materials. This week has the kids making animal pencil toppers! Perfect for back to school!
