Anniston, AL – The Calhoun County Area Chamber and Visitor’s Center is excited to invite Chamber members to a special event on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM CST. The 2024 State of Agriculture presentation will be held at the Chamber’s office located at 1330 Quintard Avenue, Anniston, AL 36201.
This annual update will feature Alabama’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries, Rick Pate, who will provide insights into the current state of agriculture in Alabama. Commissioner Pate’s presentation promises to be an informative and engaging discussion on the latest developments and trends within the agricultural sector.
Rick Pate has served as Alabama’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries since 2018. With deep agricultural roots, he was raised on his family’s cattle and poultry farm in Lowndes County. Pate holds a degree in ornamental horticulture from Auburn University and is the founder of the award-winning Pate Landscape Co., Inc. He continues his family’s agricultural legacy through Pate Charolais Ranch. Pate’s extensive public service includes his tenure as Mayor of Lowndesboro from 2004 to 2018, during which he led numerous community initiatives. His leadership and contributions have earned him a place in both the Alabama Livestock Hall of Fame and the Alabama Construction Hall of Fame.
