2nd Chance, Inc. Kicks Off Domestic Violence Awareness Month with Cookout

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Anniston, AL – On September 27th from 11 AM to 1 PM, 2nd Chance, Inc. will host a free Domestic Violence Awareness Month Kickoff Cookout at 617 Wilmer Ave, Anniston, AL. The event will offer hotdogs, chips, and drinks, aiming to raise awareness about the vital support 2nd Chance provides to domestic violence survivors.

Director of Outreach, Smith, highlighted the wide reach of domestic violence. “It affects everyone—women, men, the elderly, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Our services address physical, mental, and financial abuse.”

2nd Chance, Inc. offers:

  • Emergency Shelter: Safe housing for survivors.
  • Legal Advocacy: Assistance navigating the legal system.
  • Counseling: Free trauma-informed therapy.
  • Rapid Rehousing: Help finding stable, long-term housing.

The organization also conducts community outreach and training to raise awareness about domestic violence. This cookout is a chance to support the cause, enjoy a meal, and learn more about their essential work in the Anniston area.
