Bids
Evaluation of bids for the purchase of a 2022 Super Duty F-25- or comparable model for the Police Department – City Manager addressed that this would not come out of general funds, instead it would come from inoperable vehicles funds.
Evaluation of bids for the fabrication of Force Factory at the Anniston Museum – No discussion
Project Contract
Contract for the Golden Spring Drainage Project with Gonzalez – Strength & Associates, Inc. (GSA) – The contract is an all inclusive contract to do all the construction, surveying, and planning. Councilman Jenkins was concurred with the fee schedule. He felt it was considerably higher than normal. He would like to hear from the company to understand how adjustments might can be made to save the city money. The suggestion was made to have them come to a work session.
Travel Reimbursements
Reimbursements to city officials for expenses incurred while traveling away from the city. – No discussion
- Mr. Folks wanted to mention that the MLK breakfast that is annually held is going to be held virtually this year due to COVID concerns.
- Mr. Folks handed out a summary of residential numbers and business registered in Anniston.
- Councilman Roberts wanted to address a concern about some of the living conditions and that not every landlord is doing their part to keep homes up to code.

Adopting by reference the 2021 Editions of the International Building Code, International Residential Code, International Fire Code, International Fuel Gas Code, International Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code, International Existing Building code, International Property Maintenance Code, and 2020 Edition of the NFP 70 National Electric Code 2nd Reading – Councilman Jenkins asked that under section 5 the start date be moved to March 1st to give people the time to get the book in hand.

- Councilwoman Harris – She wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year and state hw excited she is for the new things coming in 2022.
- Councilwoman Smith – She also wished everyone a Happy New Year and is looking forward to 2022.
- Councilman Roberts – He wished everyone a Happy New Year. He also is happy that people are starting to be aware of all the things the council is doing. He things this is a good thing and loves all the council members and city workers. He also looks forward to 2022 and the years beyond. He also reminded everyone about disposable day that is coming up on the 7th and 8th. There will be be rolloff bins in each ward.
- Councilman Jenkins – He wanted t echo the comments about having a good New Year. He also wanted to encourage everyone to markup. The cases are increasing. Most of these there are vaccinated and the cases are mild so please get vaccinated. He also wanted to thank all the council members for all their hard work in 2021. He also wanted to share that there was $39 million investments made in 2021 and 829 permits issued. This show the growth of the city. He is also looking forward to 2022.
- Mayor Draper also wished everyone a goo New Year. He thanked all for attending in person and virtually. He thinks 2022 will be an even better year.
