Anniston, AL – As February unfolds, the Anniston Museums and Gardens cordially invites the community to the 44th annual Heritage Festival: Words that Lift the Soul! Taking place on Saturday, February 17, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Longleaf Event Center, this celebration promises a day filled with enriching activities and cultural appreciation.

Embracing the spirit of Black History Month, the Heritage Festival encourages community engagement and celebration. A highlight of the event is the Oration Competition, designed to inspire and uplift the youth of Anniston. Parents are invited to register their children from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 for this unique opportunity to develop public speaking skills and nurture their love for reading, writing, and poetry.

The registration process is simple. Interested participants can download the registration form and submit it via email to [email protected] or visit the Anniston Museum of Natural History for in-person registration. However, it’s essential to note that registration forms must be submitted by the end of the day on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

The festival promises an array of activities for attendees of all ages. K.B. Solomon, a special performer, is set to captivate the audience with a unique and engaging presentation. Local vendors will be on site, offering a variety of products for those looking to support and explore the talents within the community.

Moreover, the Anniston Museum of Natural History and Berman Museum will be open for tours, providing an educational and entertaining experience for visitors. As you stroll through the festival, delicious food options from on-site vendors will be available for purchase, adding a delightful culinary element to the celebration.
