Jacksonville, AL – A Jacksonville man was arrested Wednesday following the execution of a search warrant connected to an ongoing fentanyl distribution investigation in Calhoun County.
According to the 7th Judicial Major Crimes Unit, members served a search warrant on May 7, 2026, at a residence on Fairway Drive SW in Jacksonville as part of an investigation into the distribution of fentanyl within local communities.
Authorities said the search resulted in the seizure of approximately 1.3 pounds of fentanyl, marijuana, a firearm, U.S. currency, and various items of drug paraphernalia.
Thirty-five-year-old Christopher Marshad Walker was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl and first-degree possession of marijuana.
Officials stated that the 7th Judicial Major Crimes Unit includes personnel from the 7th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, the Anniston Police Department, the Oxford Police Department, and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office. Assistance with the search warrant was also provided by the Jacksonville Police Department Street Crimes Unit.
In a statement, the Major Crimes Unit said investigators “work tirelessly to pursue those individuals that are spreading this poison into our communities.”
Authorities noted the investigation remains ongoing and no additional information will be released at this time.
