Oxford, AL – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced that the 2026 NJCAA Division I Softball World Series will return to Choccolocco Park in Oxford after spending one year in Yuma, Arizona. The event marks the third time Oxford has hosted the national championship tournament and the beginning of a new three-year hosting agreement.
The 2026 tournament is scheduled for May 25-30 and will feature 20 teams from potentially 20 different states competing for the national championship title. The field will consist of 16 district champions and four at-large qualifiers. Tournament play will follow a double-elimination format, with the top four seeds receiving first-round byes.
Florida programs have dominated the NJCAA Division I Softball World Series in recent years, with schools from the state winning every championship since 2019. During the last Division I World Series hosted in Oxford in 2024, Indian River State College captured its first national championship by defeating McLennan Community College 3-0 in the title game.
J’Dah Girigorie earned Tournament Most Valuable Player honors during the 2024 championship run. The Curacao native has continued her softball career at Florida International University this season.
Tickets for the 2026 NJCAA Division I Softball World Series will be available for purchase at Choccolocco Park during the tournament. Daily admission is set at $15 per adult, while tournament passes will cost $40 per person.
