Jacksonville, AL – The Jacksonville State University Police Department released its April 2026 crime log, detailing a range of reported incidents occurring both on and around campus throughout the month.
Among the reported offenses were multiple assault and harassment cases, drug-related incidents, thefts, criminal trespassing complaints, and one reported sex offense investigation.
One of the most serious incidents reported occurred on April 20 at Campus Inn, where a “Sex Offense-Force” case was reported. According to the log, the incident reportedly occurred between 9:41 p.m. and 10:26 p.m. The case remains pending.
Several assault-related incidents were also documented during the month. On April 3, an Assault Third Degree case was reported at the tennis courts and remains pending. Additional third-degree assault cases were reported April 18 at Dixon Hall and April 26 at the UREC facility. Both of those cases were listed as closed.
Drug-related offenses appeared multiple times throughout the month. On April 15, a Possession of Marijuana Second Degree case was reported at The Edge and later closed. On April 21, another marijuana possession case involving drug paraphernalia was reported at Dixon Hall and remains pending. On April 23, authorities reported a case involving Minor in Possession of Tobacco and Possession of Marijuana Second Degree at The Edge.
Harassment and harassing communications complaints were also reported in several campus housing areas. Cases were documented at Curtiss Hall, Sparkman Hall, Stone Center, Dixon Hall, and Salls Hall during April.
The crime log additionally included several theft-related incidents. Reported thefts included a bicycle theft on Miller Street, theft from a public building at Ayers Hall, theft of lost property at Pete Mathews Coliseum, and a miscellaneous theft case also tied to Pete Mathews Coliseum. Most theft investigations remain pending.
Other incidents listed in the report included criminal trespassing cases at North Village and Trustee Circle, a false alarm report at Pi Kappa Phi, and a possession of a forged instrument case at Merrill Hall.
According to the department’s records, arrests were made in connection to at least two incidents during the reporting period, including a criminal trespassing case on April 7 and an ignition interlock misdemeanor case reported May 22 off Pelham Road.
The university’s published crime log includes incidents reported to campus police and lists each case’s current disposition status, which may change as investigations continue.
