Oxford, AL – The Oxford, Alabama Parks and Recreation and Oxford Scrap Society are inviting local crafters and creatives to attend “Create for a Cause: Scrap & Journal Retreat” on Saturday, May 30, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 401 McCullars Lane in Oxford, AL.
The event is designed as a relaxed, self-guided retreat for scrapbookers, junk journalers, and paper crafters looking for a dedicated day to work on personal creative projects in a welcoming environment. Organizers say attendees are encouraged to bring their own craft supplies and projects while enjoying uninterrupted crafting time throughout the day.
Originally priced higher, organizers announced the retreat is now available for $35 per person. The registration fee includes meals throughout the day, access to a coffee bar, door prizes, a make-and-take craft project, a shared supplies table, and additional activities and surprises.
The retreat will operate as a drop-in style event, allowing participants to stay for the entire day or come and go as needed.
According to organizers, proceeds remaining after expenses will support a new community initiative called “Adaptive Art Day,” which aims to provide a free summer art experience for individuals with special needs and their families.
Event organizers noted that space is limited and encouraged early registration. Additional information and registration are available through the event signup form.
