Oxford City Council Recognizes Officer Logan Johnson as ALEAF 2026 Police Officer of the Year

Oxford, AL – The Oxford City Council recognized Officer Logan Johnson during its meeting on May 26, honoring him as the Alabama Law Enforcement Appreciation Foundation 2026 Police Officer of the Year.

Officer Johnson was recognized for his service, professionalism, and dedication to the citizens and community of Oxford. City leaders noted his continued commitment to public safety and the positive impact of his work throughout the community.

During the meeting, the council also unanimously approved several agenda items, including a rezoning ordinance for property located on Beck Road and an ordinance amending sections of the city’s building code.

The council unanimously approved the consent agenda, which included resolutions related to economic development agreements with AS Modular LLC, a tax abatement agreement, the purchase of a snowmaking unit, the acquisition of property on Bynum Cutoff Road, transportation grant application preparation, an NJCAA Championship Host Agreement for future softball world series events, and appointments to the Library Board.

Additional public hearings were also scheduled for June 9 to consider several proposed zoning ordinance amendments and zoning requests reviewed by the Oxford Planning Commission.
