Montgomery, AL – Alabama voters returned to the polls on June 16 for the 2026 Primary Runoff Election, determining party nominees in several statewide races ahead of the November General Election. According to unofficial results from the Alabama Secretary of State’s Election Night Reporting system, 408,740 ballots were cast from 3,812,426 registered voters, resulting in a statewide voter turnout of 10.72 percent. All 67 counties reported results as of 10:45:53 p.m. on June 16.
Election officials noted that all results remain unofficial and are provided as a courtesy by the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office and county probate judges. Final certification will occur following the canvassing process.
Republican U.S. Senate Runoff
U.S. Rep. Barry Moore won the Republican nomination for the open U.S. Senate seat, defeating Jared Hudson.
- Barry Moore – 173,418 votes (55.80%)
- Jared Hudson – 137,340 votes (44.20%)
Moore advances to the November General Election and will face Democratic nominee Everett Wess.
Democratic U.S. Senate Runoff
Everett Wess secured the Democratic nomination over Dakarai Larriett.
- Everett Wess – 50,229 votes (54.59%)
- Dakarai Larriett – 41,779 votes (45.41%)
Wess will face Barry Moore in November.
Republican Lieutenant Governor Runoff
John Wahl won the Republican runoff for lieutenant governor.
- John Wahl – 175,724 votes (56.99%)
- Wes Allen – 132,625 votes (43.01%)
Wahl advances to the General Election as the Republican nominee.
Republican Attorney General Runoff
Katherine Robertson captured the Republican nomination for Attorney General.
- Katherine Robertson – 168,424 votes (55.07%)
- Jay Mitchell – 137,412 votes (44.93%)
Robertson will advance to the November ballot as the Republican nominee.
Republican Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries Runoff
Corey Hill won the Republican nomination for Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries.
- Corey Hill – 158,033 votes (53.30%)
- Christina Woerner McInnis – 138,468 votes (46.70%)
Hill advances to the General Election.
Republican Public Service Commission Place 2 Runoff
Jim “Zig” Zeigler secured the Republican nomination for Public Service Commission Place 2.
- Jim Zig Zeigler – 152,633 votes (51.34%)
- Chris Beeker – 144,640 votes (48.66%)
Zeigler advances to the November General Election.
