Sparklight Invests More than $12 Million to Enhance Connectivity in Anniston, Jacksonville

ANNISTON, AL — Sparklight announced it has invested more than $12 million over the past three years to expand and enhance its fiber-rich broadband network in Anniston, Jacksonville and surrounding communities.

According to the company, the investment is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen network infrastructure, increase capacity and support future connectivity demands for residential and business customers throughout the region.

Sparklight said it has continued expanding fiber deeper into its service areas as part of a long-term strategy to build a network capable of supporting growing digital needs, emerging technologies and economic development opportunities. The company reports its overall fiber-rich network spans more than 31,000 route miles.

Residential customers in Anniston and Jacksonville currently have access to Gigabit internet speeds through Sparklight’s network. Business customers can access a range of connectivity solutions, including fiber-powered internet, voice services, managed technology services, Ethernet solutions and high-capacity network options with speeds up to 10 Gig and beyond.

Company officials said the network improvements are designed to provide faster internet speeds for activities such as streaming, gaming and video conferencing while supporting reliable connectivity for remote work, online learning and daily business operations. The expanded infrastructure is also intended to support multiple connected devices and scalable solutions for organizations of varying sizes.

In addition to network upgrades, Sparklight highlighted several services available to customers, including whole-home Wi-Fi powered by eero Wi-Fi 7 technology, Sparklight Mobile wireless service with nationwide 5G coverage, and Tech Assist, a support service for connected home devices, smart televisions and gaming systems.

The company said the investments are aimed at supporting the region’s increasing connectivity needs while providing infrastructure for future growth and technological advancements.
