PIEDMONT, AL — The Piedmont Ministerial Association will host America’s 250th Birthday Celebration on Saturday, July 4, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Gazebo in downtown Piedmont.
The community event will commemorate the nation’s 250th birthday with a patriotic program, a children’s bicycle parade, music, and refreshments.
The celebration will begin with a welcome from Jerry Stewart, followed by an opening prayer led by Hayward Clark. The program will also include the National Anthem, the Pledge of Allegiance led by Ted Anderson, patriotic music, and a featured presentation by speaker “Peter the Patriot.” The event will conclude with a closing prayer by Michael Burgess.
Children are also invited to participate in a Children’s Bike Parade, which will travel from Dailey Street Baptist Church to the Gazebo.
Organizers encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs for seating. In the event of inclement weather, the celebration will be moved to Dailey Street Baptist Church.
Cake and drinks will be served following the program.
The event is open to the public.
