JACKSONVILLE, AL — Grammy Award-winning bluegrass artist Dan Tyminski and his band are scheduled to perform at Jacksonville State University’s Randy Owen Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, July 25, at 7 p.m.
Tyminski has spent more than three decades building a career that spans bluegrass, country and contemporary music. He first began performing as a child, competing in fiddle contests, square dances and bluegrass festivals throughout New England.
He is widely recognized as the singing voice behind “I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow” in the film O Brother, Where Art Thou? and for his collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii on the international hit “Hey Brother.” In addition to his solo career, Tyminski is known for his longtime work with Alison Krauss and Union Station.
Over the course of his career, Tyminski has earned 14 Grammy Awards and has been named the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Male Vocalist of the Year four times. He has also contributed instrumental and vocal performances to recordings by artists including Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Kenny Chesney, LeAnn Rimes and Rob Thomas.
His most recent live album, Dan Tyminski: Live From the Ryman, showcases performances from Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and highlights his continued focus on live touring.
Tickets for the July 25 performance range from $39 to $59 and are available through the Randy Owen Center for the Performing Arts.
