Jacksonville, AL – AmFirst has opened a new branch on the campus of Jacksonville State University, expanding an existing partnership between the financial institution and the university.
The branch, located at 802 Pelham Road North, officially opened August 27 and is AmFirst’s 22nd location. The branch will provide full-service financial services to students, faculty, staff and members of the Jacksonville community.
AmFirst and Jax State marked the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by students, university and community leaders, and AmFirst employees. AmFirst President and CEO Kevin Morris and Jacksonville State University President Dr. Don C. Killingsworth Jr. delivered remarks during the ceremony.
“When an organization chooses to establish a physical presence on a university campus, it sends a strong message,” Killingsworth said. “We believe in this institution. We believe in its students, and we want to be a part of its future. We are grateful that AmFirst made that commitment to Jax State.”
Guests at the grand opening were offered coffee and refreshments and received limited-edition AmFirst and Jax State bobbleheads commemorating the new location.
The branch represents the latest development in a partnership between AmFirst and Jacksonville State that began in July 2024. The multi-year agreement included naming rights for AmFirst Stadium.
Since then, the relationship has expanded beyond athletics. The new branch gives AmFirst a permanent location on campus and provides university students and employees with direct access to the financial institution’s services.
“Our partnership with Jax State has always been about more than having our name on a stadium,” Morris said. “Opening a branch on campus lets us be part of the everyday Jax State experience and build relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the Jacksonville community.”
University officials also highlighted the potential for the branch to provide students with access to financial education and resources during their college years.
“Having a trusted financial partner, right here on campus, creates opportunities to help our students understand banking, credit, saving, borrowing, and ultimately, how to build a strong financial future,” Killingsworth said.
The Jax State Campus branch is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
