BIRMINGHAM, AL — AmFirst has awarded $5,000 to 23 K-12 teachers across Alabama through its inaugural “Clear the List for Classrooms” back-to-school campaign.
The campaign received more than 300 submissions from educators and was designed to help teachers purchase classroom supplies while reducing the amount they spend out of pocket.
Three educators were selected as grand prize winners and received $1,000 each toward their Amazon Wish Lists. The 2026 grand prize recipients are Lynleigh Gant, a first-grade special education teacher with Jasper City Schools; Joshua Dollar, an agriscience high school teacher with St. Clair County Schools; and Quenette Mason, a kindergarten teacher with Birmingham City Schools.
“We know that teachers are the heart of our communities, yet they often dip into their own pockets for their classrooms,” said Jody Mattson, AmFirst’s director of philanthropy and community engagement. “Our ‘Clear the List’ campaign was created to ease that burden and express our deep appreciation for their dedication. Seeing the incredible response from educators and the community was deeply rewarding.”
In addition to the three $1,000 awards, AmFirst randomly selected 20 teachers to receive $100 each toward their Amazon Wish Lists, bringing the campaign’s total direct support to $5,000.
“I’m sincerely grateful!” Mason said. “This financial gift will extensively support my students in all facets of their learning.”
AmFirst is also encouraging members of the public to support participating educators who were not selected for an award by purchasing items from their classroom wish lists. The full list of participating teachers and their wish lists is available through AmFirst’s website.
According to the organization, the campaign is part of its broader efforts to support education and invest in the communities it serves.
