Anniston, AL – The First Annual Anniston Autumn Serama Classic will take place Saturday, October 17, 2026, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Calhoun County Ag Center. The event, hosted by Homesley Homestead and Pumpkin Vine Farm, will bring together poultry exhibitors and enthusiasts for a competition featuring the Serama, a small chicken breed known for its distinctive posture and personality.
The event is sanctioned by the Serama Council of North America (SCNA) and will feature a tabletop show where participating birds are evaluated on their type, posture, confidence, and showmanship by an SCNA judge.
Organizers welcome experienced exhibitors, individuals new to showing Seramas, and members of the public interested in learning more about the breed. The event is designed to provide opportunities for competition, fellowship, and appreciation of Serama chickens.
Registration fees are $7 per bird for regular exhibitors and $5 per bird for junior participants. The regular entry fee covers both in-cage and tabletop competitions, with exhibitors having the option to participate in either or both categories.
Due to the number of entries already received, organizers are requesting that participants submit their registrations by Sunday, October 11. Additional entries may not be accepted after that deadline.
The inaugural event aims to establish a new opportunity for Serama enthusiasts to gather in Anniston while introducing the public to the breed and the competitive poultry-showing community.
