Alexandria High School FCCLA Seeks Nominations for 2026 Heroes of the Valley Recognition Program

Heroes of the Valley 2026

Alexandria, AL – Alexandria High School’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapter is inviting community members to nominate first responders and military veterans for its 2026 Heroes of the Valley recognition program. The student-led community service initiative aims to recognize individuals whose service, leadership, and dedication have made a lasting impact on the local community.

Launched earlier this fall, the Heroes of the Valley project encourages residents to identify first responders and veterans who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to serving others. The program will recognize 10 individuals, including five first responders and five veterans.

The selected honorees will be recognized during two upcoming events at Alexandria High School.

The First Responders Recognition Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, November 6, during Alexandria High School’s first-round football playoff game. The recognition ceremony will begin at 6:35 p.m.

The Veterans Recognition Ceremony will take place Tuesday, November 10, during the school’s Veterans Day assembly, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

According to Trey West, a representative of Alexandria High School FCCLA, the initiative is intended not only to recognize individuals who serve the community but also to encourage other area high schools to develop similar community service and recognition programs.

Organizers hope the project will bring greater attention to the contributions of local first responders and veterans while encouraging students to become more involved in recognizing those who serve their communities.

Community members can submit nominations through the program’s online form:
