Zumba with Eboney Lewis
Many people are looking for a way to exercise but don’t enjoy hitting the weight equipment. If you are one of the people looking for a fun way to exercise then Zumba is the answer.
Zumba is often described as more of a dance party than a workout. The high-energy classes are set to upbeat music and feature choreographed dance numbers that you might see in a dance club. Areas that are targeted during the exercise routine include the core, arms, legs, glutes, and back. Benefits include increased flexibility, aerobic exercise, and increased strength.
You don’t need to be a great dancer to feel welcome in a Zumba class. With the tag line, “Ditch the Workout, Join the Party,” the classes emphasize moving to the music and having a good time, no rhythm required.
Classes are held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The Monday and Wednesday classes start at 5:30 pm and the Saturday class begins at 9:00 am. Classes are $5 each or $25 for two classes a week for a full month, or $35 for three classes a week for a full month. Please contact the Jacksonville Community Center for registration or questions, their number is 256-435-8115.
