Salon 106 is a locally owned and operated salon that can help with all of your beauty needs! You can find them in the building on the Square with the Gem of the Hills mural.

Bear and Sons

Owner Jennifer Christian met with me to tell me all about her business and how they are able to value and serve their clients.

  • Tammy (T): How and when did your business begin?
  • Jennifer (J): It used to be Natalies, and I worked for Natalie years ago. She was almost like a mentor because she was the first one I worked for out of cosmetology school.
  • T: Tell me about your location in Jacksonville
  • J: It’s located next to Brothers Bar, before you go around the Square. It’s the oldest building in Jacksonville, it used to be an old shoe store and there’s a plaque outside. And now it’s a salon! You can’t miss it because it has the big Jacksonville mural on the side.
  • T: What kind of services do you offer here?
  • J: We do pretty much everything! We do lash extensions, and we’re having a Lash Class on October 2nd for those. We do hair extensions, color, color correction, waxes, women’s and men’s haircuts, and we do nails as well.
  • T: Tell me about your stylists here.
  • J: I have Allie Patterson and myself and I’m wanting to get one more stylist in here. So we’re offering a booth rental, so anyone interested can call me or come by the shop.
  • T: Where can people find you online and in person?
  • J: We’re on Facebook and IG @salon106 and the store number is 256-365-1303 to make an appointment. We’re located at 106 Pelham Rd South and we offer walk-ins as well, which a lot of people don’t do. Please like, share and tell your friends!
  • T: Anything else you’d like to share?
  • J: I created a Facebook group called “What’s Happening in Jacksonville/Anniston/Oxford” where small business owners can post any day of the week to help get the word out about their business without restrictions. I wanted to bend the rules a little bit since small businesses were hit so hard and have suffered because of Covid. We run a lot of specials and always give friend incentives for referring people to us, because I’ve always valued my clients.

I hope you enjoyed this small business spotlight, I’ll be back next week with another!
