On Sunday October 21 from 2 pm – 4:30 pm the Jacksonville City Cemetery is the place where some previous residents will come back to life.
The Jacksonville City Library is hosting the 2nd annual Cemetery Stroll working up to the Alabama Bicentennial. The staff at the Library and the volunteers that are going to be playing the deceased residents have been working hard for months to make sure this production happens for our community.
There will be challenges for some of the children and some possible laughs for the adults from the actors, but overall it is a very family friendly atmosphere. Each character will be dressed in period clothing and has conducted research on their character to ensure accuracy in their speeches and performance.
The cemetery stroll is a self paced walking tour for visitors that allows them to take their time and enjoy the history of the cemetery. Each visitor will be provided with a map outlining where each character is located so they are sure not to miss any of the attractions available to them.
If you would like to see each of the actor’s give their speech and performance be sure to arrive early. Each performance last approximately 5 – 7 minutes and the actors will interact with the crowd.
