NARFE Cheaha Chapter set to meet Friday October 26 at 10 a.m. for BCBS briefing
Local organization helps federal employees, retirees
The NARFE Cheaha Chapter 1511 (National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association) will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Friday October 26 at Bynum Community Center. All are welcome to attend. The chapter, which normally meets on the fourth Thursday of the month, is meeting on Friday this month for its special, annual briefing from Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) Representative Marva May. The free briefing is an opportunity for current and retired federal employees to obtain BCBS news updates and answers to their personal questions. Besides setting up the annual BCBS briefing, NARFE Cheaha Chapter 1511 maintains an office at Anniston Army Depot in building 251 as a resource for other information and assistance for for current and retired federal employees who have questions and issues regarding personnel actions, submitting changes (i.e. death of a retiree or spouse), and updating individual records. Volunteers open the office every Tuesday from 9 a.m.-noon. The phone number is 256-235-4631. The email is [email protected]. The NARFE Cheaha Chapter covers Calhoun County and five other Alabama Counties close to the depot.
