Work Session

Councilman Spurlin opens the session asking if anyone wanted to speak about the zoning request.  The initial zoning was neighborhood shopping and now want to change to agriculture. This isn’t to prevent the commercial businesses. This is more to ensure that properties don’t come in and change the area.  One exception was the Pine Lane zoning that is proposed to move from general manufacturing to planned development.

The next topic was resolution No. 2022- 01 – This resolution is to approve a project development agreement between TC-MAC, LLC, I20 Exit 185 LLC, SP, LLC and the City of Oxford and authorizing the Mayor to sign same. The main issues was in understanding the scope of the project. For this project it is primarily set for demolition and improvement on draining. A discussion was also had of the previously flooding issues.

Additional discussion was held regarding $20,000 in funding. The money can be used in a variety of ways, but will primarily go to police funding. Also of notes was the mention that additional lawsuits are settling and moving in a positive direction.

The work session was noted that this was a quick session and the council meeting would start in about five minutes.
