The office of Governor Kay Ivey the following directive was sent out to all Alabama State Agencies:
In accordance with the presidential proclamation, I am directing flags be flown at half-staff immediately to honor the service of former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, who passed away earlier today, March 23, 2022.
On behalf of the state of Alabama, I extend my deepest sympathies to her family and former colleagues.
The flags are to be lowered to half-staff until sunset on Sunday, March 27, 2022.
