Montgomery, AL – Governor Kay Ivey issued a release on Tuesday, December 6th for the flags being lowered to half staff. The release stated:
“In accordance with the President’s presidential proclamation, I am directing flags be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 to honor and remember our military members who heroically fought at Pearl Harbor.
Eighty-one years ago, the world watched in both horror and disbelief as Japanese fighter planes attacked the United Stats Navel Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, killing more than 2,400 Americans and destroying much of the Pacific Fleet. May we never forget those who paid the ultimate sacrifice while defending our county and standing up for what is right.
The flags are to be flown at half-staff for the entire day of Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
