Calhoun County has been placed under a Flood watch

Calhoun County, AL – per the Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Calhoun County has been placed under a Flood watch until 12:00 am Thursday.  The times for this alert are subject to change.

A storm system is expected to move into the area from the west later tonight and will continue affecting the area through Thursday morning. Gusty winds up to 35 mph can be expected on Wednesday and Wednesday night. A risk for flash flooding is possible along and north of Interstate 20 from after midnight tonight through 12 a.m. Thursday.
Where: All of Central Alabama
When: 6 pm Today through 12 am Thursday morning.
Threats: Wind gusts up to 35 mph
Rainfall estimations up to 2″ for this area.
Heavy rainfall may result in localized flooding, especially along and north of the I-20 corridor.
