Two Chinese New Years Events

Anniston, AL – On Saturday, February 4th from 10:00 am to 11:30 pm the Berman Museum is excited to reintroduce the popular children’s program series, I Spy starting with I Spy! Chinese New Year. Each month they will explore a new topic or person in history through stories, scavenger hunts, and crafts. This month, they will discover the fun and unique traditions used to celebrate the Chinese or Lunar New Year. I Spy! is recommended for ages 6–10, but all are welcome.

I Spy! is included in museum admission and free for members. Pre-registration is encouraged.
Also on Saturday, February 4th from 11:30 pm to 2:00 pm there will be a program on Chinese New Year Customs and Traditions. Chinese New Year celebrations are full of symbolism and tradition. Did you know that 2023 is the year of the rabbit? What does that mean? What do the colors gold and red symbolize? Why are lanterns hung? Learn the answers to these questions and more. AM&G Animal Ambassador, Cinnabun, will make a special guest appearance and share rabbit characteristics that those born in the year of the rabbit are said to possess.
This program is included in museum admission and free for members.
