Calhoun County, AL – Wellborn’s Battles and Evans, Oxford’s Jack and Wilson, Anniston’s McCord and White Plains’ Garmon among the Calhoun County Sports Hall of Fame picks

 

Oxford and Wellborn high schools will each have two selections in the Calhoun County Sports Hall of Fame class of 2023, the committee announced today.

The class, to be inducted June 17 at the Oxford Civic Center, brings the Hall to 112 members and includes the following:

—Mike Battles, former Wellborn High football coach.

—June Evans, former Wellborn High softball, track and volleyball coach.

—Chris Garmon, former White Plains High athlete, Jacksonville State baseball player and high school football coach.

—Jason Jack, former Oxford and Alabama quarterback.

—Terry McCord, former Anniston High and Troy University basketball player.

—Barney Wilson, former Oxford baseball and football player and JSU baseball player.
