Anniston, AL – In a continuous effort to uphold safety and security within the community, the Anniston Police Department has released their weekly statistics for the period of August 7th to August 13th, 2023. These figures provide insight into the department’s proactive approach to maintaining law and order.Throughout this week, Anniston’s officers responded to a noteworthy total of 952 calls for service, underscoring their commitment to being a readily available resource for the community’s needs. Within this span, 105 criminal incident and offense reports were documented, allowing the department to record and address various criminal activities.

Aside from major criminal incidents, 56 minor incident reports were also filed. While minor in nature, these reports contribute significantly to the overall understanding of local safety concerns, enabling the police to keep a close eye on even the smallest disturbances.

An essential aspect of the Anniston Police Department’s role is the apprehension of individuals involved in criminal activities. During this week, seven felony arrests were made. Complementing these, 33 misdemeanor arrests were executed.

Traffic safety remains a top priority for the department, evident from the 14 traffic accidents attended to by officers. In a bid to prevent accidents, 135 traffic stops were conducted, leading to the issuance of 40 traffic citations. These actions are aimed at creating a safer environment for both motorists and pedestrians.

Furthermore, the police force successfully served 22 warrants, ensuring that those who are subjects of legal actions are brought to justice. Alongside these efforts, a single animal was picked up.

In the realm of street crimes, three felony arrests and five misdemeanor arrests were carried out, emphasizing a focus on addressing criminal activities that are often more visible in public spaces.
