Digital Intruders Strike City of Oxford Fights Back Against Facebook Page Hackers

Oxford, AL – In a digital showdown, culprits have set their sights on the city of Oxford’s Meta page, sparking an intense battle to regain control.

Followers to the city of Oxford’s Meta (aka Facebook) page were in for a shock when notifications blared on Friday, revealing that the page’s name had morphed into “Hadley Julia.”

Despite the bizarre name switch, all the city’s vital information remains intact in the “about” section, including City Hall’s location and Oxford’s general details. However, a strange twist comes in the form of the page manager’s listed locations, which now span across Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, and other locations. If that’s not enough, the content being posted takes a controversial turn, featuring intimate images of couples that have left many feeling highly offended.

City officials have reached out to Meta  in a determined bid to put an end to these brazen hacking attempts. City officials notes they were overwhelmed with the support from the community. City officials also apologized for the posts and the nature of the content that has been posted. May residents are interacting directly with the hackers and often refrenceing the city in the posts.

While the posts are ongoing city representative are continuing to diligently combat the hack and regain control and continuing posting valuable information to the city’s residents.
