City of Anniston Transit Alert: Street Closures for Carver Center Trunk-Or-Treat Event

Anniston, AL – In an effort to keep the citizens of Anniston informed and ensure a smooth flow of traffic, the City of Anniston is issuing a transit alert regarding street closures scheduled for Thursday, October 26, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. These roadblocks are necessary to accommodate the Carver Community Center’s Drive-Thru Trunk-Or-Treat event, located at 720 W. 14th St, Anniston, AL 36201.

The Carver Community Center’s Drive-Thru Trunk-Or-Treat will provide an exciting opportunity for the community to celebrate Halloween safely from the comfort of their vehicles. The event will run from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with citizens entering through the Carver Center parking lot. Participants will exit the parking lot and proceed down West 14th Street until reaching its intersection with Cobb Avenue, at which point event-goers may choose to exit by turning left, right, or continuing straight ahead on West 14th Street.

To ensure the safety of event attendees and the smooth flow of traffic, roadblocks will be in place at several key intersections starting at 5:00 PM on October 26, 2023. These roadblocks will remain in effect until approximately 8:00 PM. The intersections subject to temporary closure include:

1. West 14th Street & Mulberry Ave.
2. West 14th Street & Cooper Avenue
3. West 14th Street & Cobb Avenue
4. West 14th Street & Haven Avenue
5. Haven Avenue & Claxton Street
6. West 12th Street & Haven Avenue

Please plan your routes accordingly and allow extra time for any necessary detours or delays in these areas during the specified hours. The City of Anniston encourages all residents to participate in the Carver Community Center’s Drive-Thru Trunk-Or-Treat event, and thanks the community for their understanding and cooperation in facilitating this fun and safe Halloween celebration.
