Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County to host card-making initiative for Cards for Hospitalized Kids all November

Anniston, AL – The Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County is spearheading a heartwarming card-making program throughout November in collaboration with Cards for Hospitalized Kids (CFHK). Community members and library patrons are invited to participate by creating Thanksgiving-themed cards, bringing hope, joy, and magic to hospitalized children.

Cards for Hospitalized Kids (CFHK) is a charitable organization dedicated to spreading hope, joy, and magic to hospitalized kids across America through uplifting, handmade cards. They distribute these cards to Children’s Hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses (RMH) in all 50 states, providing both “general” cards monthly and special holiday cards for major occasions. Since its inception, CFHK has delivered over 500,000 cards to kids in hospitals nationwide, and they aspire to continue spreading strength and smiles to as many hospitalized kids as possible.

Founded in 2011 by Jen Rubino, who personally experienced hospitalization and surgeries as a child, CFHK has become a beacon of support for families facing medical challenges. The organization believes that every card sent is a small but significant gesture that contributes to brightening a child’s day during challenging times.

The library’s initiative allows individuals to express their creativity while contributing to this meaningful cause. The handmade cards, each unique and crafted with care, will be sent to CFHK for processing and subsequent distribution to Children’s Hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses nationwide.

Founder Jen Rubino expressed gratitude for the continued support from The Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County, emphasizing the impact of community involvement. “It’s so great to see people coming together to help us spread strength and smiles to hospitalized and seriously ill kids this holiday season,” Rubino said.

Over the years, The Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County has actively participated in the CFHK initiative, contributing hundreds of heartfelt cards.
