Dear Editor,

I’m sharing this article because early Friday morning I lost a college classmate/friend to what quite likely was a situation like this. In September he’d had an odd episode, went to the emergency room, got checked out and declard OK. They said it was probably just an anxiety attack. Thursday evening he began to feel a bit off. In light of what had happened in September, he and his family just thought he needed to let it pass. He went to bed, got up and walked around a bit, and went back to bed. His wife heard a loud noise, thought he was having a nightmare, tried to rouse him, and got no response. His son was home for Thanksgiving. They immediately called 911 and started doing what the operator told them to do. EMTs were there within 5 minutes, worked on him, got no reponse, and took him to the hospital. The hospital worked on him but could never revive him.
If in doubt, go!
Jim
