Originally performed every night of the first fifteen days of the Lunar New Year, the dance holds profound meaning. It is believed to expel evil spirits and usher in good luck for the upcoming year. The drum, an integral part of the performance, symbolizes the heartbeat of the lion, adding a rhythmic and symbolic layer to the dance.

Attendees left with not only a greater understanding of the symbolism behind the festivities but also with hearts full of joy and appreciation for the rich heritage celebrated on that special day.
