Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public Assistance in Recent Investigations and Catch of the Week

Calhoun County, AL – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is actively engaged in investigations related to recent property crimes and is reaching out to the public for assistance. By fostering community involvement, the Sheriff’s Office aims to enhance public safety and bring those responsible for criminal activities to justice.

Incident 1: Sometime between February 2nd and 4th a gold Chrysler Town and County van was broken into while the vehicle was disabled on the side of Hwy 431 in Gadsden. The car batter, a JVC Bluetooth radio, and an antenna were stolen.

Incident 2: Sometime between December 2023 and January 2024 a red 2015 Massey Ferguson Tractor was stolen from a residence on New Liberty Road in Jacksonville.

Catch of the week: Zackery Ward and Amanda Marshall 

A burglary was being investigate, and investigator were able to develop information that led to an address on Net Street in Anniston. They approached that residence on February 15th and attempted to make contact with Zackery Ward and Amanda Marshall. A search warrant was executed and the following items were located: Trafficking weight in fentanyl, a bucket of marijuana (marihuana per code), copious amounts of controlled substances, and several stolen items, including the items taken in the burglary. Both subjects were charged with Receiving Stollen Property 1st, Trafficking Marihuana, Trafficking in Fentanyl,, Multiple counts of Possession of Controlled Substance, Tampering with physical evidence, and Illegal Possession of prescriptions. In addition, Zachary Ward was charged with Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm.
