Birmingham, AL – Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers is embarking on a philanthropic endeavor throughout April to bolster the state’s singular free-standing pediatric medical institution.
Throughout the month, every service conducted at Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers outlets across the state will contribute $1 towards Children’s of Alabama. This initiative, dubbed the “Changing Oil, Changing Lives” campaign, has been a stalwart supporter since its inception in 2008, having amassed over $1 million in donations to Children’s.
Chandler Bibb, Chief Development Officer at Children’s of Alabama, expressed profound gratitude for Express Oil Change and Tire Engineers’ unwavering dedication. Bibb emphasized the campaign’s profound impact, stating, “Through our partnership, they have helped Children’s provide a creative outlet for our young patients that helps reduce stress and anxiety and promotes emotional well-being while they are in the hospital.”
The collaboration between Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers and Children’s of Alabama extends beyond financial support. The company has been the primary advocate of the Children’s Art and Expressive Therapy Program, a vital initiative fostering emotional well-being among pediatric patients. Collaborating with Child Life specialists from the Children’s of Alabama Child Life and Education Department and the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Arts in Medicine, this program creates an environment where patients can engage in meaningful artistic endeavors.
