Anniston Changers Announce 5th Round of Minor Home Repair Grants

Anniston, AL – The Anniston Changers have announced the opening of their 5th round of minor home repair grant opportunities, available from Monday, April 8, 2024, until Monday, May 13, 2024. These grants, aimed at addressing health or safety hazards in residential properties, may provide funding of up to $2,500.

Funded through the City of Anniston Fund established with the Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama, these grants serve residents within the corporate city limits of Anniston, Alabama. The Anniston Changers, a dedicated group of volunteers passionate about their community, partner with local organizations and citizens to undertake monthly service projects throughout the city.

Eligibility for these grants is contingent upon meeting three requirements:
1. Ownership of a home within the Anniston, AL corporate city limits.
2. Qualification as either over 60 years of age, mentally or physically disabled, or low income.
3. Application for residential property that is owned and occupied as the primary residence.

To apply for the grant, interested individuals can access the online application via the provided link or refer to the announcement flyer for more details. Additionally, resources such as a step-by-step instructional guide and an instructional video are available to assist applicants through the application process.

The scope of funding encompasses repairs addressing minor health or safety hazards in residential properties. Past examples of supported projects include wheelchair ramps, window replacement, minor roof patching, minor plumbing repairs, and minor deck/awning repairs.

– Deadline for applications: May 13, 2024, at 5:00 PM CT.
– Maximum request: $2,500.00.
– Grantees are responsible for finding their own contractors if selected.
– Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
