Randolph County stands one victory way from an area softball title.
The Tigers beat Dadeville 5-4 and host Beulah 3-1 on Friday to reach the finals of the Class 3A, Area 7 tournament. They await the Beulah-Dadeville winner in Saturday’s finals.
Winner and runner up advance to regional play,
Randolph County (24-8-2) scored two in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 5-1 lead on Dadeville. Gracie Huckeba’s sacrifice fly plated the first run, and Aniyah Lee scored on a passed ball.
The Tigers then survived a three-run Dadeville rally in the top of the seventh inning. Autumn Taylor got a strikeout to strand runners at second and third bases.
Huckeba had a single and two RBIs, and Talee Sims went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and three runs overall.
Taylor struck out six batters and allowed six hits on the way to the complete-game win.
Against Beulah, Lexi Key pitched a complete-game four-hitter with one strikeout.
Brantlee Wortham went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Sims had a double and an RBI.
Class 6A, Area 12
OXFORD SPLITS: The host Yellow Jackets beat Gadsden City 14-1 then fell to Pell City 15-4 on Friday at Choccolocco Park.
Oxford (19-17) will play the Gadsden City-Clay-Chalkville winner on Saturday at 2 p.m. for a chance to advance to the finals and clinch a regional berth. Pell City awaits in the finals.
Against Gadsden City, Kaelyn Crossley went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs and four RBIS, and Jayla Jackson homered with two RBIs.
Reagan Sanders went 2-for-3 with a triple, a run and two RBIs, and Berkley Mooney had a double and RBI.
Oxford also got an RBI apiece from Emma Tims-Becerra and Charleigh Trotter.
Crossley pitched a three-hitter with six strikeouts in five innings.
Mooney homered with two RBIs against Pell City, and Tims-Becerra was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI. Adajiah Wilson doubled and scored two runs.
Class 1A, Area 11
SPRING GARDEN 17, FAITH CHRISTIAN 1: Addie Word went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, and Hannah Ingram doubled with three RBIs as host Spring Garden (23-9) advanced to face Cedar Bluff in Saturday’s winners’ bracket game.
Paisley Woodall singled with two RBIs, and Maggie Jarrett was 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs.
Maggie Reedy had a single, an RBI and four runs, and Avery Steward went 2-for-2 with two runs.
Word pitched a three-hitter with one strikeout in four innings.
JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN SPLITS: The Thunder opened with a 10-0 loss to Cedar Bluff then beat Faith Christian 12-2 to stay alive. JCA awaits the Spring Garden-Cedar Bluff loser Saturday.
Against Faith, Sophie Williams pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts in five innings. She also went 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBIs.
Addie Lee had a double, a run and three RBIs, and Carlie Chesson had a triple, a run and three RBIs.
Cali Sexton had a single, two runs and two RBIs, and the Thunder got a single and RBI apiece from Taylor Cash and Symone Estelle.

PLEASANT VALLEY 13, JACKSONVILLE 8: Madyson Cromer went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs and six RBIs as the Raiders finished the regular season 15-17-1.
Haylie Lee as 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. She also got the win, allowing six hits and two earned runs with one strikeout in four innings.
Lily Henry hit two doubles and scored run, and Aubree Cromer had a double, four runs and an RBI.
Lilly Robinson went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs, and Abby Evans had a single, a run and an RBI. Jordan Cheatwood went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
Jacksonville’s Libby Strain went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and Lexi Phillips went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. Lacey Barnes had a double, a run and an RBI.
Dailyn Wood and Je’henna Engram each had two hits and an RBI.
