Oxford, AL – Downtown Oxford is set to burst into life with the launch of two exciting monthly event series beginning this May. Historic Main Street Oxford invites residents and visitors alike to join in the festivities as Second Friday on Main kicks off on May 10th and Market on Main begins on May 18th, promising an array of entertainment and activities for all.
Second Friday on Main
The five-month extravaganza of Second Friday on Main commences on May 10th from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Simmons Park, located at 400 Main Street in Historic Downtown Oxford. This special series will showcase an eclectic mix of food trucks offering delectable treats, alongside performances by talented local and regional artists.
Attendees can look forward to live entertainment, a captivating car show, and a delightful “kids zone” experience, complete with lawn games and bounce houses. Additionally, art vendors will be on hand to display and sell their creations, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the evening.
Market on Main
The fifth annual Market on Main series begins on Saturday, May 18th, running from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Simmons Park. This event, held on the third Saturday of each month through September, celebrates the rich heritage of Simmons Park, which served as a trading post for over a century. Market on Main will feature a diverse array of artisans and craft vendors, showcasing their talents and wares to eager shoppers.
In addition to perusing the market stalls, visitors can enjoy live entertainment and a designated area for children, ensuring a family-friendly environment for all to enjoy.
