Weaver, AL – In a touching ceremony filled with gratitude and celebration, Habitat for Humanity dedicated a new home in Weaver for the Mallory Family. The event commenced with an opening prayer by Jayden Brown, a family member of the Mallorys, setting a tone of reverence and unity.
Amanda Pinson, the Executive Director of the Calhoun Cleburn Habitat for Humanity, eloquently expressed the organization’s mission to bring people together and make a positive impact in the community. Pinson emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts in building affordable homes, strengthening communities, and fostering hope.
Pinson highlighted the profound symbolism of the house, not merely as a structure but as a vessel of love and unity for the Mallory family. Tanisha Mallory, visibly moved with emotion, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in the process, emphasizing that owning a home was a dream she never thought possible.
Ms. Mallory’s dedication to the project was evident, having contributed over 300 hours of sweat equity into the home’s construction. Alisa James, the Community Development Coordinator at the City of Anniston, played a crucial role in securing funding for the home, underscoring the collaborative effort between various stakeholders.
Also in attendance were Habitat for Humanity’s board member Sherry Laster, Weaver Mayor Jeff Clendenning, Weaver Councilman Clint Burns, and County Commissioner Terry Howell, each expressing their support and appreciation for the Mallory family and Habitat for Humanity’s mission.
Mayor Clendenning welcomed the Mallory family to Weaver, expressing his delight in working with Habitat for Humanity to provide new homes for families. Commissioner Howell echoed this sentiment, describing the project as fantastic for the county and emphasizing its positive impact on all involved.
