Jacksonville, AL – Jacksonville State University (Jax State) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Wendy L. Cash as the new Director of Alumni Engagement. A distinguished alumna, Dr. Cash’s return to her alma mater symbolizes a renewed commitment to strengthening connections with alumni and enhancing their lifelong engagement with the university.
Bringing a wealth of experience in alumni engagement, Dr. Cash’s tenure as the Manager of Engagement at Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business exemplified her ability to cultivate enduring relationships between alumni, students, and the institution. Her dynamic vision, honed at a prestigious institution like Auburn, underscores her readiness to lead Jax State’s alumni engagement efforts.

Killingsworth, Jr., President of Jacksonville State University. “Her innovative approach and dedication to alumni engagement will be instrumental as we strive to strengthen our ties with alumni and enrich their connection to the university.”
In her new role, Dr. Cash will provide strategic leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive alumni engagement program. Her responsibilities will include creating meaningful opportunities for volunteerism, service, personal and professional development, and events aimed at bolstering alumni loyalty and support for Jax State. Additionally, she will spearhead efforts to cultivate connections for alumni worldwide, increase alumni participation and giving, and enhance the overall alumni experience.
Expressing her excitement about returning to her alma mater, Dr. Cash said, “I am honored and humbled to be returning to my beloved alma mater as Director of Alumni Engagement. JSU invested in me as a student, providing me with a foundation of knowledge that has guided my career for more than 20 years. I look forward to fostering new relationships, bolstering alumni engagement, and reconnecting with fellow alumni who cherished their time at JSU.”
Dr. Cash holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and English from Jacksonville State University, a Master of Technical and Professional Communication from Auburn University, an Event Planning Certificate from Emory University, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Auburn University.

Dr. Cash is set to begin her new role on July 8, 2024, and the Jax State community eagerly anticipates the positive impact she will bring to alumni engagement initiatives.
