Anniston’s Stringfellow Memorial Hospital to Introduce New Urgent Care Services

RMC President and CEO Announces Plans to Close Stringfellow Campus Emergency Department and Inpatient Services

Anniston, AL – The Health Care Authority of the City of Anniston (RMC) and Southern Immediate Care have unveiled an exciting collaboration aimed at enhancing urgent care services in northeast Alabama. Effective mid-August, Southern Immediate Care will take over urgent care operations at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital’s emergency room, located at 324 East 19th Street.

To facilitate this transition, the current emergency room at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital will cease accepting new patients starting July 18 at midnight. Patients requiring emergency care after this time are encouraged to visit the RMC Emergency Department situated at 400 East Tenth Street.

Louis Bass, CEO of RMC, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Southern Immediate Care to Stringfellow. Their expertise in providing high-quality urgent care services will be a tremendous asset to our community. This collaboration represents a significant stride in our mission to enhance healthcare access and ensure our residents receive top-notch care close to home.”

Southern Immediate Care at Stringfellow is scheduled to commence operations in mid-August, operating from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. seven days a week. The new urgent care center will offer a comprehensive range of medical services, focusing on non-life-threatening conditions such as minor injuries and illnesses.
