Montgomery, AL – Voting is now open for the 11th Annual America’s Best-Looking Cruiser Contest, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is calling on the community for their support. Each year, ALEA competes alongside highway patrol and state police agencies across the nation in the American Association of State Troopers’ (AAST) “Best-Looking Cruiser” Contest. The winning photos are featured in the AAST’s calendar, with proceeds benefiting educational scholarships for members’ dependents.
This year, ALEA has entered its new Dodge Challenger, which is photographed in front of the iconic USS Alabama located in Mobile. The USS Alabama stands as a proud tribute to the state’s rich naval heritage and significant contribution to the nation’s defense. Adding to the impressive scene is a Bell 407 helicopter from ALEA’s Aviation Unit, captured flying over the cruiser and battleship.
ALEA Secretary Hal Taylor expressed enthusiasm for the contest, stating, “Each year, we look forward to participating in the National Best-Looking Cruiser Contest. It’s a friendly competition between state agencies and engages citizens to support and interact with law enforcement in a positive way. We often look for locations or iconic scenes that reflect our state, and this year we are proud to pay tribute to the enduring legacy of the USS Alabama and the brave men and women who served aboard this great battleship.”
Colonel Jonathan Archer, Director of ALEA’s Department of Public Safety (DPS), echoed Taylor’s sentiments, adding, “The 11th Annual National Best-Cruiser Contest is an exciting and engaging event, but it also serves as a reminder of the dedication and professionalism exhibited by state troopers and law enforcement agencies across the country. It is a testament to their unwavering commitment to upholding justice, protecting communities, and ensuring the safety of all citizens.”
The winner of the contest will receive the “Best-Looking Cruiser Award” and be featured on the cover of the AAST’s “America’s Best Looking Trooper Cruisers 2025 Wall Calendar.” The calendars will be available for purchase on the American Association of State Troopers website starting October 1, 2024.
ALEA aims to land the cover this year and is seeking votes from the public. You can cast your vote HERE. The contest’s voting will be conducted through the SurveyMonkey website, the official voting platform for all states. Additionally, the link to vote can be found on the AAST’s Facebook page.
