PUBLIC NOTICE
On behalf of Anniston Army Depot (ANAD), Cherokee Nation Environmental Solutions (CNES), and Conti Federal Services (CFS), have been contracted to develop and provide an updated ANAD Community Involvement Plan (CIP) to help keep the local community informed and provide the public a voice.
We are requesting public engagement in the development of the ANAD CIP as required by the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) of 1980 amended by the Superfund and Reauthorization Act (SARA) of 1986, and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) of 1976.
Effective communication, and timely exchange of information are essential for maintaining community understanding and support for ANAD environmental cleanup activities, health and ecological plans. The purpose of the CIP is to establish effective methods for informing the community of installation cleanup program actions, solicit stakeholder and community input on concerns regarding current and future activities and maintain a strategy that supports proactive, two-way communication between the Army and the local community.
Your opinion matters. Contact us to schedule an anonymous interview. All responses and feedback from interviews will be incorporated into the CIP and all participants will remain anonymous. Please contact us to schedule interviews or request additional information: Kathryn Donohue at (908) 902-3919 or [email protected] Interviews may be conducted via phone, email, or MS Microsoft Teams through November 15, 2024.
