Calhoun County, AL – Douthit Timber Company, LLC, owned and operated by father-son team Donald and Jared Douthit, has been named the 2024 Alabama Outstanding Logger of the Year by the Alabama Loggers Council. This prestigious honor highlights the Douthits’ dedication to safety, sustainable forestry, and a culture of continuous improvement within the logging industry.

The Douthits exemplify all that makes our industry great. They run a fine family business, employ numerous individuals, and make a positive impact in the area where they operate on a daily basis. They are unique in that their state-of-the-art logging operation is built around their trucking capabilities, embracing the crucial trucking side of their business.”
Since its establishment in 2018, Douthit Timber Company has operated as a sophisticated logging business in Calhoun County. With a team of 10 employees and a fleet of modern, well-maintained equipment, the company produces approximately 75,000 tons of timber annually. Supplying six area mills, the Douthits have quickly risen as top producers in the industry. Their crew focuses primarily on contract timber harvesting and hauling for 4X Timber, LLC, with 90% of their work in clearcutting and 10% in pine plantation thinning.
