Public Warming Station Opening in Anniston Amid Freezing Temperatures

Anniston, AL – As temperatures in the Anniston area are set to drop below freezing, the United Way of East Central Alabama, in collaboration with the City of Anniston, His Hands and Feet Ministries, and MeMe’s Heart, is stepping up to provide a warm haven for those in need. A public warming station will open its doors on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 6:00 PM and remain operational until Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 8:00 AM.

The warming station will be hosted at The Bridge at Anniston First United Methodist Church, located at 1400 Noble Street, Anniston, AL. Each night, admission will close at 9:00 PM, with potential extensions depending on weather conditions.

The community effort not only offers warmth and shelter but also invites local support in the form of food donations. Those interested in contributing can email [email protected] to assist.
