Calhoun County EMA Transitioning to New Emergency Alert System

Calhoun County, AL – Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has announced a significant change in its emergency communication services. Beginning December 10, 2024, the county will transition from the Everbridge Alerting System to the Regroup Alerting System. This update aims to enhance the reliability and accessibility of emergency and weather notifications for all county residents.

What Residents Need to Know

  • Automatic Transfer: Current subscribers to the Everbridge Alerting System will have their information automatically transferred to the new Regroup platform.
  • New Sign-Ups: Starting December 10, residents who have not yet registered for alerts can easily join the new system by texting JOINCALHOUNEMA to 31002.

The Regroup Alerting System will continue to deliver critical updates, ensuring that residents receive timely information about severe weather, emergencies, and other public safety concerns. This transition is part of the EMA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing safety and preparedness across the county.

Residents are encouraged to verify their information after the transition to ensure uninterrupted service and take advantage of the improved features the new system offers.
