Montgomery, AL – Calhoun County farmers received top honors during the Alabama Farmers Federation’s 103rd annual meeting held on December 9 in Montgomery, highlighting their leadership, dedication, and contributions to the agricultural community.
Linda Loveless, a prominent figure in the Calhoun County Farmers Federation (CCFF), was awarded the Individual Leader Award in the Women’s Leadership Division category. This prestigious recognition celebrates individuals who have been instrumental in advancing specialized programs at the county level. Nominated by CCFF President Jon Hegeman, Loveless was praised for her perseverance, ability to empower others, and her sense of responsibility, which has earned her widespread respect.
“Mrs. Linda’s leadership is marked by perseverance, her empowerment of others, and a sense of responsibility that has earned her respect within the community,” said Hegeman.
For the past eight years, Loveless has played an active role in the CCFF Women’s Leadership Committee, inspiring the next generation of leaders. She has contributed to farm days, food drives, Farm-City activities, and the annual CCFF legislative breakfast. She was presented the award by Federation Executive Director Paul Pinyan.
The Calhoun County Farmers Federation also received an Award of Excellence for its outstanding programs, community initiatives, and agricultural advocacy throughout 2024. This accolade underscores CCFF’s commitment to advancing the interests of local farmers and strengthening ties within the community. Federation Executive Director Paul Pinyan and CCFF President Jon Hegeman accepted the award on behalf of the organization.
In addition, Calhoun County farmer Daniel Trantham was honored for completing nine years of service on the Alabama Farmers Federation State Soybean Committee. During his tenure, Trantham played a critical role in shaping policy concerns, hosting educational programs, and addressing key agricultural issues. He received recognition from Federation Soybean Division Director Carla Hornady.
These accolades demonstrate the significant impact Calhoun County farmers have on Alabama’s agricultural landscape, showcasing their commitment to leadership, innovation, and community service.
